Numbness in Hands

Many people have experienced the symptoms of numbness in the hands and fingers. The normal symptoms are described as pins and needles and most people describe it as if their fingers or hands have gone to sleep. This usually occurs during sleeping, after sitting for prolonged periods, or when someone holds their hand above their head during activities such as changing a light bulb.

Poor circulation may or may not be associated with a medical condition. The medical conditions known to have symptoms of cold hands are: Buerger’s disease, Carpal Tunnel Syndrome, Arthritis, Raynaud’s phenomenon, de Quervain’s tenosynovitis syndrome, Tendonitis, Complex Regional Pain Syndrome, Diabetes, and any condition affecting the circulatory system causing poor circulation.

People who suffer with cold hands due to Raynaud’s report painful cold hand and finger sensations, swelling, hand tingling, cold hand and fingertip numbness and throbbing. They welcome sources of heat to relieve the cold hand and fingertip pain. Infrared heat therapy is helpful for Raynaud’s sufferers. When using the computer, a person must grip and grasp a computer mouse and use the hands for typing on the computer’s keyboard.

Another way is to take l-argenine. L-argenine is an amino acid that is a vasodilator. A vasodilator increases blood flow and circulation throughout the body. The hands and the feet get a very marked increase in the amount of blood that circulates to them after just one dose. L-argenine is available at vitamin stores and many supermarkets.

Fibromyalgia numbness can come and go at anytime. It is of course important to rule out any other causes. If it is your first time experiencing the numbness you should check in with your doctor. There are many other reasons numbness can occur including carpel tunnel syndrome, neuritis, multiple sclerosis (MS) and others.

After leaving the spinal column, the nerves separate into smaller and smaller bundles and travel to every nook and cranny in the body. The nerves that exit the neck are distributed in the shoulder, arm and hand. They travel in a giant nerve group called the brachial plexus. The nerve can become entrapped in several places between the neck and hand.

Type 2 diabetes onsets gradually. Most people remain unaware that they are suffering from diabetes. Diabetes is a medical condition that causes the blood sugar levels to rise. High blood sugar levels cause much destruction. One such complication is numbness or tingling in hands and fingers. It is the earliest warning sign of diabetes.

If you have got any of the above symptoms it does bot mean that your are diabetic. It is better to see a medical health professional nearby. You can keep a log of when you notice the above symptoms so you can answer the queries of doctor intelligently.

What is Nitric Oxide?

So just what is nitric oxide and how can it be useful in helping to increase lean muscle mass? NO (nitric oxide) is a free form gas which the body produces and helps the cells within it to communicate with each other. It is this gas when produce contains an enzyme which then is able to break down the amino acid known as arginine. It is a molecule which contains one atom of nitrogen and one of oxygen.

This particular gas is produced by many different cells in our bodies and it is particularly important as it helps to control the flow of blood throughout the body. As it is so important in relation to the functions of the vascular part of the body if production of NO becomes abnormal this can then seriously affect how the blood flows around the body and causes problems relating to all vascular functions.

Although this compound is actually toxic it still plays a very important role within the body and helps with following:-

1. It acts as a blood vessel relaxant (vasodilator).
2. It can control the amount of blood flowing to the body tissues.
3. It helps to regulate both the binding and release of oxygen into haemoglobin.
4. It can control the amount of oxygen that is provided to the cells in our body which then generate energy.
5. It helps to kill off parasitic organisms along with virus infected cells and those cells which have become tumorous.
6. It can help to stimulate the production of mitochondria.
Because of these benefits many people are now using nitric oxide supplements as a way of helping to increase their lean muscle mass and such ones as Niox have now become favored by bodybuilders and athletes alike.

However when bodybuilders or athletes are considering using such supplements it is important that they look at what other products they are using as well. Unfortunately there are such products as protein powders which can be detrimental to a person’s health when they start taking nitric oxide supplements as well. Simply because both contain quite a high amount of amino acid within them. Certainly many people find that by taking too much amino acid can cause certain side effects that they would not notice if they just took protein powders or nitric oxide supplements alone. Plus because of the increase flow of blood around the body caused by the vessels becoming relaxed through the use of nitric oxide this means that more of the essential nutrients that bodybuilders and athletes need get to where they are required.
