Getting Fit Makes You Feel Better

Once upon a time if you wanted to get fit, the natural next step was to sign up for a health club membership. Today, however, even the middle class citizen can afford to buy exercise equipment of just about the same quality and variety as you’ll find in some of the better gyms. And, you can exercise without leaving the comfort of your own home.

There are so many different types of exercise machines to choose from. And they specialize in so many different things – biceps masters, six pack generators,  quad developers, and on and on. So what should you select? Select one that you love What this means is that, if you hate sitting on a seat and pedaling your legs, by all means avoid getting a stationary bike. And if you simply hate running, a treadmill is probably not the best choice. Now, realizing that you may hate all forms of exercise, try to find equipment that you hate the least and that you might at least find a bit of enjoyment in.

Not many of us can afford to have our own personal trainer, but if you can it’s the perfect way to get fit. Most of us need a push to help us embrace exercise, and personal trainers are absolutely good at that. They’re experts in helping you to set fitness goals and then pushing and motivating, you to reach those goals.

Luckily, those that don’t have much money can sort of get their own personal trainer in the form of a DVD. There are many excellent exercise training videos out there that can give you multiple types of workouts. And if you get bored with a certain instructor, or type of workout, there’s always another video or DVD set to replace them. Do this enough times and before long you’ll no longer need a DVD to motivate you.

It may be a cliche, but an exercise program is good for your mind as well as the body. When you exercise, your body produces endorphins – the hormone like substances or neurochemicals that occur in the brain and give you an enormous sense of well-being. The general effect of endorphins on the body is much like a drug. It reduces pain and improves a person’s mood.

For some reason, nature has decide that when we exert ourselves, more endorphins should be pumped into our bloodstream. They’re sort of like our body’s natural pain reliever and mood enhancer. As a matter of fact, some studies have shown that the amount of endorphins produced during certain exercises can be at least as effective as antidepressant medications in alleviating depression.

Exercise has to become a part of you if you want to get fit. It’s not something that you do one week, take off a few weeks, then do another week and so on. Sure this is better than nothing, but it’s not really getting you into shape. It simply gives you the false illusion that you are improving your health.

Whether it’s walking, running, weight lifting, or some other form of exercise – it has to be a sustained effort in order to be successful. It has to be part of your lifestyle. And the biggest determining factor of whether you can meet your fitness goals are not depends to a great extent on if you can make regular exercise part of your lifestyle.

Grow Taller Exercises – The Impact That Exercise Has On Your Height

It sounds almost like a no-brainer: exercise, and grow taller. The benefits of exercising are many and varied, from reducing your body fat, to improving your cardio-vascular abilities, to reducing stress, and even helping you grow taller or at least maximize your genetic/natural height.

Exercising at an age when you can grow taller helps stimulate the release of HGH (Human Growth Hormone) while putting pressure on the growth plates in your legs that helps you increase your height. If accompanied with a proper diet, a solid exercise program can help you increase your height by a significant margin.

Traditionally, it has been thought that men grow up to the age of 18-20, while women maximize their growth by the age 16-18, after which it is believed that the growth plates fuse together, limiting the possibility of further growth. These traditional views, however, are being challenged by a plethora of new, exciting research that points that the growth plates don’t fuse together completely and that height can be increased further beyond the age 20 with the application of the proper techniques (i.e., exercise and diet).

Another source of growth beyond the stimulation of HGH/growth plates is micro-fractures. This technique is used extensively in height increase surgery to help patients grow taller. Through this technique, tiny fractures called ‘micro-fractures’ are induced in the bones. Usually, these micro-fractures happen every day in normal day-to-day activities and are healed almost immediately. However, if the bone is kept under stress after micro-fractures are induced, the fractures grow in size before healing up, which, over time, can add a significant few inches to your height. Activities such as heavy sprinting, squats with weights, and other intense cardio exercises such as kicking, jumping can induce micro-fractures in the bones.

Stretching, bicycling, swimming are other exercises that have been known to aid in height increase. For the sake of safety and effectiveness, it is advisable to exercise only as per a well laid out, tested regimen. Otherwise both the effects and benefits of the exercises may be limited.
